PROJECT: Co-Fe

DATE: 2019

TYPOLOGY: Co-working, Commercial Office

LOCATION: Santa Fe Railyard

ROLE: Lead Designer, Project Manager

SUMMARY: A pioneering workspace that incorporates a coffee shop and yoga studio into the reuse of an historic elementary school. This was the first coworking space in Santa Fe,  so the program of the space and mix of dedicated desks, private offices and open seating needed to be worked out with the client as the project developed. Working under Trey Jordan, Grant Alexander designed the program, developed the office and open space plans, produced the permitting drawings, and laboriously worked with the city of Santa Fe to get the project permitted and open.

The key design moves for the project were keeping the private offices as small as could be comfortable to create a bright, open and inviting office feel. Well scaled phone booths, meeting rooms and conference rooms was also critical for the function of the space.
